Notes/Feedback

  • Sisi provided recap of last year’s month long events 

  • Rain at start of event resulted in shuffling things inside, including entertainment

  • Issues

    • Parking 

      • Rent golf carts or find volunteers to shuttle people to Holy City 

      • Distribute a parking map

      • Talk to surrounding businesses about using parking lots 

        • Crosswalk on one side of light 

  • What would you have liked to see? 

    • Making sure we have a more sensory friendly area

      • Rain interfered with last year’s area 

      • Have the Bee Hive (Layla) at Holy City finale event

        • Mobile sensory station

  • What did you like/dislike about any events you attended? 

    • Michelle- enjoyed the finale event, going around and talking to vendors. Hunter did not enjoy it because it was too overstimulating. 

      • Music/entertainment forced to move inside because of rain 

    • Christine / Cassie- it was very hot at the Summerville celebration because it was outside during the day

    • Scarce parking in North Charleston during the finale

Ideas

  • Michelle- can share on neighborhood’s small business owner page / also wants to be a sponsor 

  • Host an event at Public Works?

    • Cocktail hour mixer, sensory friendly, etc. 

  • Molly will connect with one-man-band guy

  • Book reading 

    • Friend of Sisi published a picture book

  • Ashley and Chris-Inclusive Wrestling Show at Striped Pig

  • Hoodie Cat- Board Game Lounge @ Tanger Outlet 

    • Game Night

    • Percentage night / month to Disability Pride 

  • Ashley- has friend that wants to do a “bring pottery to you” type gig 

    • She can help find more / new vendors for finale 

  • Camp Rise Above field day 

  • Water Park Night at Charleston County Parks

    • Maybe a food truck rodeo
